Thiruvananthapuram: Dr K Lalitha, former superintendent of SAT Hospital and head of the gynaecology department, died here on Thursday. She was 85.
Lalitha was working with SUT Hospital in Pattom after retiring from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College in 1992. For over six decades of her service, she had taken births of over a lakh children in the district.
She did her MBBS from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital (TMCH) in 1954 by securing fourth rank.
She also did her postgraduation in gynaecology later. She joined the state health service first and later joined TMCH in 1964. She was practicing till she was diagnosed with cancer in July this year.
Late C V Trivikraman, who was the secretary of Vayalar Ramavarma Trust, was her husband. She has two daughters
Maala Parvathy (actor) and Lekshmi. The cremation was held at Santhikavadom .
