THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: President K.R. Narayanan on Wednesday presented veteran Kerala politician K.M. Mani, industrialist C.K. Krishnan Nair and artist-writer M.V. Devan with the V.P. Menon award for their lifelong services to Kerala in their respective fields.
Mani has grown up with Kerala''s political history and is the record holder, having been elected 10 times in succession to the the legislative assembly from the same constitutency.
He is founder leader of the Kerala Congress (M), the third largest ruling partner of the Antony government.
Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, who spoke on the occasion, recalled the services of V.P. Menon and felicitated the recipients for the award. Capt. Nair is a leading investor in the hospitality sector and Devan is an acclaimed writer and artist.
