The Kazhakootam police have registered a case and started a probe into the unnatural death of a migrant labourer at Ambalathinkara near Kazhakootam. The police identified the deceased as Seetharaman hailing from Jharkhand.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kazhakootam police have registered a case and started a probe into the unnatural death of a migrant labourer at Ambalathinkara near Kazhakootam. The police identified the deceased as Seetharaman hailing from Jharkhand.
The police said that in fact Seetharaman had died three days ago. Then, the other labourers, who lived with him had told the hospital authorities that Seetharaman collapsed all of a sudden and he died on the way to the hospital.

However, the post mortem report came on Friday, in which the doctors had mentioned about a contusion on the lower portion of the neck of Seetharaman, though the cause of death was a cardiac arrest, police said.
The police suspected that Seetharaman might have entered into a fight with any of the other inmates of the house and he might have suffered cardiac arrest in the impact of the beating he received. Thus, the police have taken three labourers into custody and interrogated them. But the interrogation has not yielded yet.
The police also said that more people would be interrogated in connection with the alleged crime.
The case is being investigated by Kazhakootam Circle Inspector Arun.
The body of Seetharaman is kept at the morgue of medical college hospital. Steps have been initiated to send the body to his family.
