Police arrest two history-sheeters

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cantonment police arrested Puthanpalam Rajesh, a history-sheeter, for threatening contractors of city corporation’s vehicle parking ground near Connemara Market at Palayam.
Cantonment SI B M Shafi said the incident pertaining to the case took place on November 10. As per the complaint, the accused turned up with a gang of hoodlums and threatened the contractors to clear the space.

He also raised claim to the parking ground.
“Rajesh is notorious for securing contract of parking grounds in the city in the name of his associates and maintaining them. He is learnt to have control over the parking grounds under Thampanoor and Museum police station limits,” the SI said.
Rajesh was nabbed on Wednesday evening. His arrest was recorded and he was produced before court at night. He has been remanded in judicial custody. A search is on to nab the remaining accused in the case.
In another case, Medical College police on Thursday arrested a wanted criminal who was found travelling in a car with arms. The police identified the accused as Dhanesh alias Singham Dhanesh, 35, of Punnakkamugal. His vehicle was intercepted by police in front of Rohini Lodge on Pazhaya Road near Medical College. Police also seized several swords, iron rods and iron pipes from the car.
Dhanesh is involved in numerous criminal cases, including attempted murder and ganja peddling, registered at Museum, Poojapura, Karamana and Railway police stations.
