PM Modi reaches Kerala capital
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the state capital on Thursday evening. He has reached the state capital for the commissioning of the Vizhinjam International Transhipment Container Terminal which will be held on Friday morning.
The prime minister who reached the state capital by 7.45 pm was recieved by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan his cabinet colleagues and Governor Rajendra Arlekar at the airport.
The prime minister went to the Raj Bhavan straight from the airport where he will be staying tonight. He will be leaving for Vizhinjam by chopper from the Pangode military station by 10 am on Friday.
After recieving a container ship at the port he will review the functioning of the port. By 11 am he will be addressing a public gathering inside the port premises in which he will be commissioning the port.
After the function, the prime minister will leave the state capital by 12 noon.
The city has been put under heavy security cover in view of the two day visit by the prime minister. The SPG and state police have made elaborate security arrangements especially in the wake of a series of hoax bomb threats being recieved in several places of the state capital.
The police have enforced traffic and parking restrictions along the way the prime minister will be travelling on both days. A no drone fly zone has also been declared in these areas especially in the region surrounding Raj Bhavan where the prime minister will be camping tonight.
