‘Min Riyas should be counting all potholes’

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V D Satheesan gave a strong reply to PWD and tourism minister PA Mohamed Riyas and addressed him as the ‘minister appointed under management quota’.Satheesan said on Friday that Riyas, who got a ministerial berth under ‘management quota’, need not try to become the super chief minister (CM). He said that instead of seeking details about the opposition leader’s influence in his party, the PWD minister should count the number of potholes in all roads across the state. He added that the minister is behaving like this as he had not faced hardships before he became a minister.Satheesan said that though the CM is claiming that the opposition is allergic to Nava Kerala Sadas (NKS), it is the people of the state who are allergic to that event. The CPM is resorting to widespread attacks on opposition party members across the state. The ministers, who were caged for 44 days, will be finally free on Saturday. The ministers are only being used by the CM to badmouth the opposition, he claimed. He also added that the CM who boasted about his bravery when he faced threats, is shamelessly using a huge army of criminals for his security purposes.Riyas had criticised Satheesan by saying that he was acting as the B-team of the BJP which is trying to sabotage the LDF-led state government. He had also referred to Satheesan as a ‘shameless’ person leading a team of activists who are trying to attack the policemen on duty and NKS events. He had also said that the opposition leader does not have many supporters in his party.
