Thiruvananthapuram: From atop a eucalyptus tree, which he had climbed up to click the photo of a Binnell's eagle at the Wayand Wildlife Sanctuary, Abhijith could not resist the call of nature, and sure he did, but on a tiger who was whiling away on the ground below him. "I think I will be the first ever bird photographer to pee on a tiger'', said 17-year-old Abhijith pointing at the photograph of Binnell's eagle while explaining the struggles of a bird photographer.
Hailing from Wayanad, Abhijith was enthused in bird watching from the age of six.
The best from collection of Abhijith's bird photographs taken during the past 5 years is at display in Alliance Francaise art gallery.
"Majority of the pictures that I have displayed here has been clicked from and around my house. You need not really have to drive into the wild or make long travelogues to click good pictures. You just have to step out of your house and look around once in a while,'' he said. Abhijith, through this exhibition, plans to inculcate love for birds among youngsters. "If you want to preserve something you need to love it in the first place," he said.
The photo exhibition was inaugurated by DPI K V Mohan Kumar. The gallery will be open to public from 10 am to 5.30p.m. till August 24.
