Noushad's death: Cops, family rule out foul play

ALLAPUZA: Police and family of Noushad Ahammad, the vegetable vendor who became popular through his Facebook video against the artificial inflation of vegetable prices and killed in an accident in Tamil Nadu, have ruled out any foul play behind his death.
Noushad Ahammad (40), was killed when the car he was travelling rammed into the rear of a truck on Thirunelveli-Madurai Highway at Kayathar in Thoothukudi district on Tuesday.However, after the accident rumours spread in social media that there was some foul play behind his death. But Noushad's relatives denied this. "We spoke to the police and understood that there was no mystery behind the accident,'' said Haris Savad, cousin of Noushad. Kayamkulam SI D Rejeesh Kumar said the police had not received any complaints. Kayamkulam DSP N Rajesh said the allegations were baseless.
The funeral of Noushad was held at Shahidar Juma Masjid, Kayamkulam on Wednesday.
