THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 'Nishiddho' (Forbidden), the first film produced by Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) as part of the state government’s project to support women directors, has bagged the Best Feature Film Award at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards (OIFFA).



The film, scripted and directed by Tara Ramanujan, showcases the relationship between a Bengali man Rudra, played by Tanmay Dhanania, and Tamil woman Chaavi played by Kani Kusruti at their workplace in Kerala.

Ramanujan had won the FFSI K R Mohanan Award for the Best Debut Director from India at the 26th International Film Festival of Kerala 2022 (IFFK) for the film, a KSFDC release said. It had also bagged the second best film award in the 52nd State Film Awards this year. agencies
