THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Fort police on Friday arrested a 54-year-old man on charges of duping the city corporation authorities through forgery.
Police identified the accused as Sirajuddeen of Manacaud. He is also the proprietor of the institution Snooz Animations, which the police sealed following his arrest. He was arrested based on a complaint filed by Sibin Mohammed, a licensed civil engineer, whose forged seal and signature the former used to dupe the city corporation.

According to the police, Sirajuddeen got several building construction plans approved by the city corporation using the forged seal and signature of Sibin Mohammed. He used to submit building plans with Sibin’s forged seal and signature before the corporation authorities.
Police also said that in fact Sibin was a former employee of Sirajuddeen at Snooz Animations, which did building plans for clients. A few months ago Sibin left the firm. He continued to offer his services to the firm till six months ago. ‘’It was during the past six months, Sirajuddeen committed the crime,’’ said Fort circle inspector k Sadan.
He said that it is learned that Sirajuddeen charged Rs 30,000 per plan he got approved from the city corporation office. Recently, Sibin came to know that his credentials were being misused by his former employer, following which he lodged a police complaint. It has to be found out how many plans he got approved this way. Police would take the details of all the plans he submitted before the corporation authorities during the last six months and thereby track down his clients to record their statements, the CI added.
Police have also conducted a raid at Snooz Animations at Vazhappally near Manacuad and seized several building construction plans and the forged seal from the firm.
The accused, Sirajuddeen was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
