`Magical' tour flagged off

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Speaker Vakkom Purushothaman on Thursday flagged off the "Bharat Vismaya Yatra", a magical journey of Muthukad''s Magic Academy troupe for a three-month national integration tour.
Gopinath Muthukad, a leading master of illusion, tours with him a team of 25 girls and boys performing magical feats. The journey will cover all states in three months and present the national flag to Prime Minister A.B.Vajpayee on October 31.
Lauding the efforts of the troupe, senior Congress leader K.Karunakaran said it was heartening that the young troupe espoused a national cause.This, he added would help in promoting unity through mass entertainment like magic.
