M Krishnan Nair Award for Dr Badwe

Thiruvananthapuram: Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, Dr Rajendra Achyut Badwe, has been selected for the first Padma Shri Dr Madhavan Krishnan Nair Award, instituted by the Thiruvananthapuram Oncology Club. The award will be distributed at a ceremony to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on November 26. Dr Badwe is regarded as an expert authority in the fields of cancer treatment and cancer research.Badwe initiated and implemented the Clinical Research Secretariat for the first time in India.
The award committee opined that the country has been able to see great progress in the field of breast cancer treatment due to the extensive research findings of Dr Badwe. tnn
