Through this partnership, Amazon India will support, train and empower women entrepreneurs associated with the organization and provide a marketplace for them to showcase their products to Amazon customers across the country.
Amazon will offer a slew of benefits to enable Kudumbashree members to start selling online at zero cost initially. 300 selected Kudumbashree members were trained for a day. Successful sellers shared their experiences with Kudumbashree members.
Talking about the partnership, Bhasin said, “At Amazon, we see entrepreneurs of all sizes and businesses of various scale from all over India growing. And hence it’s no surprise that a large percentage of our sellers today are women across a diverse age group and economic backgrounds. Participation of women entrepreneurs on the Amazon.in marketplace has been growing substantially over the past few years, especially since the inception of our dedicated programme Amazon Saheli. Through this partnership with Kududmbashree we seek to further transform the lives of women entrepreneurs from Kerala”.
