Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman and managing director of state electricity board B Ashok has lodged a complaint with the city police commissioner over the reports of a group who are involved in KSEB bill fraud.
In the complaint he has said that the consumers are receiving a message about the dues of bill payment without the knowledge of the KSEB.
The messages also warn of power disconnection if the amount is not paid immediately.

Those who have responded to this message have lost their money as the people who are sending the messages are also collecting the bank details of the consumers. The KSEB chairman has said even a former chief secretary of the state has received such a message.
The KSEB has been receiving widespreada complaints about this fraud and many consumers have lost their money.
The chairman of the board has urged the police commissioner to check whether any inter-state gang is involved in this.
He has also asked the police to seek the support of the intelligence agencies of other states to nab this gang.
