Kodiyeri blames New Delhi for Fr Uzhannalil’s ordeal

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Father Tom Uzhunnalil’s case was testimony to the lukewarm attitude of the central government.
Urging the Centre to take immediate action to release the priest, the CPM leader said it has the responsibility to reveal before the public regarding the steps taken in the past 10 months for the release of Uzhunnalil.The priest was heard saying in the latest video message that though his captors had contacted the Centre, no action was initiated. “If the video is to be believed, it shows the failure of the Narendra Modi government,” Balakrishnan said in a release issue here on Monday.
Uzhunnalil was abducted in March 2015 from Yemen by Islamic State terrorists. tnn
