Keraleeyam short film fest from July 26
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the successful IDSFFK, the city is all set to host another short film festival. Keraleeyam World Malayalam Short Film Festival, jointly organized by NGO Keraleeyam Global, Kerala Chalachitra Academy and Bharat Bhavan, will be held from July 26 to 28 at Bharat Bhavan.
The festival will screen works in Malayalam by Malayali film makers from around the world and organizers expect a minimum of 50 entries for the festival.

A jury comprising Madhupal, Sibi Malayil and Pramod Payyannur will select the best short films. A cash prize of Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the best short film. There will be no fees for delegate passes. The logo of the short film festival was officially launched by Chalachitra academy vice-chairperson Beena Paul on Wednesday.
“The festival will be inaugurated on July 26 by paying tribute to director K R Mohanan, who passed away recently. The entries can be submitted from July 6 and the last date to submit the entries is July 10. They can be directly submitted at the special counter in Bharat Bhavan. The entry should include two CDs, photograph and a declaration,” said Vidya Durgadas, secretary of Keraleeyam Global, in a news conference.
The awards will be presented in the valediction ceremony on July 28. The short films can also be submitted to keraleeyamglobal.wmsf@gmail.com.
