Kerala students fare well in ICSE & ISC exams, exceed nat’l average
Thiruvananthapuram: Students from Kerala fared well in the ISC and ICSE Class XII and Class X examinations in 2024. The pass percentage in Kerala is above the national average this year too as it stood at 99.99 for ICSE and 99.93 for ISC. The national average for ICSE and ISC examinations were 99.47% and 98.19%, respectively.
While 7,186 candidates appeared for the ICSE (Class X) examinations in Kerala, conducted by the council of the Indian school Certificate examinations, 2,822 candidates appeared for the ISC (Class XII) examinations.

A total of 160 schools presented candidates for ICSE examinations and 72 for ISC exams. Girls did better than boys in both streams as the pass percentage among girls was 100 in both ICSE and ISC, while the same was 99.97 and 99.85 for boys in the respective examinations. The results were announced in New Delhi on Monday.
According to special category statistics of ICSE candidates released by the council, 194 Scheduled Caste candidates took the examination, achieving a pass percentage of 100%. As many as 12 Scheduled Tribe candidates took the examination achieving a pass percentage of 100%. As many as 3,376 OBC candidates appeared for the examination and achieved a pass percentage of 99.97%. In the special category for ISC, all the 63 SC candidates and three ST candidates who appeared for the examinations cleared it. As many as 1,237 candidates attended the ISC examination, achieving a pass percentage of 99.84%.
At St Thomas School in the state capital, 95 of the total 113 students who appeared for the ISC science stream examination secured distinction and the rest secured first class. Anoushka Rajan Kuriakos secured the first position with 99.25%. Athira S J bagged the second position with 99%. In the commerce stream, 12 of the total 19 students got distinction while others secured first class. In the humanities stream, nine of the total 13 candidates secured distinction, while others passed with first class. In the ICSE, 175 of the 199 students secured distinction and 24 others secured first class. Durga B S and Sidharth Kumar Gopal secured the first and second positions with 99.2% and 99% marks.
At Christ Nagar school in the capital, out of the 71 candidates appeared for the ISC exam, 57 cleared the exam with distinction and in ICSE, all 152 of the total 161 students appeared for the exam cleared with distinction. Sneha Elza David and Meenakshi A stood first and second with 96.25% and 96% marks, respectively in the ISC exam. Advaith Krishna R A and Diya Nair shared the first place with 98.2% marks and Mohammed Rizwan N stood second with 98% marks in the ICSE exam.
