The Kerala High Court today granted police protection to BSNL offices in the state from the five-day statewide CPI(M) strike against prise hike, which began today.

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court granted police protection to BSNL offices in the state from the five-day statewide CPM strike against prise hike, which began today.
A division bench comprising Justices K M Joseph and M L Joseph Francis directed police to provide adequate protection to BSNL offices and see to it that the office staff and customers are not prevented access to BSNL offices during the protest.

The direction came following a petition by BSNL Ernakulam circle General Manager N Haribabu in the court complaining that the protest hindered their activities.
According to BSNL, the blockade was against the central government. The BSNL is a company registered under the companies act, the petition stated.
