NEW DELHI: A 15-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped from his home by a gang of youngsters , was rescued from a rubber plantation, police said on Wednesday. Four suspects are all under 30 were arrested, the vehicle they used for the abduction was seized.
The incident took place on Tuesday night in Mangalapuram.
According to the boy’s family, the gang arrived at their house around 7.45 pm and forcibly took him away in a car.
Following a complaint from the family, police launched an extensive search operation.
"An investigation carried out based on the mobile phone numbers and tower locations helped to trace the gang later in the night. The boy was rescued safely," police said.
Authorities revealed that the teenager was familiar with the abductors, and personal disputes were behind the incident.
One of the suspects was reportedly unhappy with the boy’s friendship with a girl, police said.
The accused are set to be presented before a local court soon, officials said.
