ALAPPUZHA: Lalithambal, wife of the
late revolutionary
KCS Mani, passed away at the
medical college hospital
here while
undergoing treatment
for a renal ailment on Wednesday. She was 77.
Hospital sources said she had been undergoing treatment for the past one year, and was hospitalized on Wednesday. Her condition worsened and she breathed her last in the evening.
Lalithambal married KCS Mani on September 10, 1957, and the couple did not have any children.
Mani, owing allegiance to RSP, had on July 25, 1947, hacked diwan Sir
C P Ramaswamy
of the erstwhile Travancore at the Music College in Thiruvananthapuram. The assassination bid paved the way for Travancore to join the Union of India.
Lalithambal was living with her sister's sons. She would be laid to rest at 3 pm at Ambalappuzha on Thursday. tnn
