Kaladharan wins theatre excellence award

T'puram: Theatre artiste K Kaladharan was announced as the recipient of the K Raghu Theatre Excellence Award instituted by contemporary art collective Theatre Academy for Media and Performance (Thamp). The award will be presented to Kaladharan at THAMP on Jan 26.An accomplished actor, director, playwright, and choreographer, Kaladharan was one of the key actors in Kavalam Narayana Panikkar's theatre group. Later, he founded his own theatre group, Rasika, in 1986 and developed a unique voice training method for theatre practitioners.Theatre sketches by Jose P Raphel and K Gopalan will be performed in connection with the award presentation programme. The performance will take place at Thamp at 7.30pm.The 11th edition of the acting workshop will be held at Thamp on Jan 25 and 26. Participants of the workshop led by theatre director Pralayan will also perform on Jan 26.
