Thiruvananthapuram: The
Kerala state human rights commission has ordered an inquiry against
Shabeer
, a civil police officer, who was attached to the Mangalapuram police station under rural police district here. The inquiry is in connection with the alleged atrocity towards agitators protesting against the SilverLine project near Murukkumpuzha a few days ago.
Commission chairman Justice
Antony Dominic
directed the district police chief (rural) to submit the inquiry report within 15 days.
The case was registered based on the complaint by

Shabeer was accused of stomping an agitator when the protest turned violent. The police have also launched an inquiry against Shabeer following this incident.
He was transferred from Mangalapuram station and attached to Rural AR Camp as part of the police inquiry. tnn
