K N Balagopal slams V Muraleedharan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAm: Finance minister K N Balagopal slammed Union minister of state V Muraleedharan for his remarks on state’s financial situation. The finance minister said the Union minister was misleading the people by coming up with false figures and making false statements. The central minister is adding politics to his arguments, Balagopal said.

The Centre usually provides the details while conveying the decision to cut down the borrowing limit. However, the Centre has not provided any such explanation for cutting down the state’s borrowing limit. “The Centre had first informed us that the borrowing limit for the state will be Rs 32,000 crore in the present financial year. However, later they informed us that we could take only Rs 15,390 crore. But there is no explanation on why the Centre has suddenly cut down the limit,” said Balagopal.
