THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 16th International Film Festival of Kerala will see actor Rahul Bose in a new avatar, that of a jury member.
Bose says his movies have competed at various film festivals the world over but he has never been part of a festival jury. Jitters? “No. Judging a movie, well, it’s not exactly rocket science... but it will be great to be on the flipside.

I have been offered to be a jury member four or five times in the past but I have never found the time to accept the job,” he says.
Bose, at first unsure if he has visited Thiruvananthapuram some 20 years ago, and finally deciding that he didn’t, says, “My films, Tahan, Japanese Wife and I am, have been screened at the IFFK over the years. I hear that it’s a really good festival, I am looking forward to being there.”
Bose will arrive here on December 9 and will stay in the city till December 16. The competition section will be chaired by Australian director Bruce Beresford and films from Asia, Latin America and Africa will compete for the Golden Crow Pheasant award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, the highest honour of the festival. The other members of the jury are French film-maker Laurence Gavron, Jeffrey Jetturian the director from Philippines and Turkish director Semih Kaplanagolu.
