Indian Navy gears up for grand display

T'puram: To commemorate Navy Day on Dec 4, Indian Navy will demonstrate its combat power and capability through an Operational Demonstration at Shanghumugham beach. The event will be hosted by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, chief of naval staff. The event will provide a unique opportunity for citizens to witness various facets of Indian Navy's multi-domain operations. The Operational Demonstration will showcase Indian Navy's indigenous efforts towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and its resolve as the ‘Preferred Security Partner' in Indian Ocean Region, guided by broader vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions).Commodore Varghese Mathew, naval officer-in-charge (Kerala), told media that preparatory activities for the event are in progress with active participation from civil administration and departments concerned. Naval teams from Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, will be visiting selected colleges and schools in the city to conduct outreach activities and workshops. These interactions aim to engage with young students to keep them abreast of the nation's maritime strength and heritage while also creating maritime consciousness. The Indian Navy is also known for its naval band. A naval band performance will be conducted by Southern Naval Command Band at Nishagandhi Auditorium on Nov 26.
