Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched a specialised ‘K2K-Kanyakumari to Kargil' cycling expedition as a significant endurance and commemorative initiative. Air Marshal Manish Khanna, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, flagged off the expedition on Tuesday.
The expedition team consists of 12 cyclists, including a lady officer, Flight Lieutenant Shrawani (five officers and seven airmen) and four supporting members led by Group Captain Chandrasekhar. The team will cover a total distance of 4,535 kms. The expedition will culminate at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass on Oct 22, 2026.

The expedition aims to promote physical fitness, resilience, national unity and the spirit of adventure among air warriors and participants. It symbolically connects India's southern tip (Kanyakumari) with the high-altitude northern reaches (Kargil), underscoring the country's geographic diversity and the commitment of India's defence services to challenge, endurance and nation-building.
