Thiruvananthapuram: City-based Habitat Technology Group has bagged two prestigious national awards for design instituted by
HUDCO under the union ministry of housing and urban affairs in cost-effective building technique and green building categories for 2021-22.
The 59 housing units designed and built by Habitat Technology Group for the Sri Sathya Sai Trust as part of its post-flood rehabilitation project in Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district won the first prize in the cost effective and disaster resistant technology category.
The award carries Rs 2 lakh and a citation.
The building of K R Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts in Kottayam, designed and constructed by Habitat Technology Group, won the second prize in the green building category. The award comprises Rs one lakh and the citation.
“Habitat Technology considers these awards as a really encouraging recognition. This will inspire us to carry forward with our mission of promoting cost effective and environment friendly construction,” said G Shankar, founder, and chairman of Habitat Technology Group.
