Kerala: Girl held for abducting and assaulting ex-boyfriend
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ayiroor police have arrested a 19-year-old girl for allegedly abducting and assaulting a youth to end their affair.
The arrested was identified by the police as Lakshmi Priya, daughter of Priya of Cherunniyoor near Thannimoodu at Varkala. In connection with the case, earlier Ernakulam native Amal (24), was arrested by the police. “During investigation, it was found that there is evidence against Lakshmi Priya and the search is on for the other accused,” said the station house officer of Ayiroor station.
According to the complaint, the Ayiroor-based youth was in a relationship with her, and Lakshmi Priya later started an affair with another person after she shifted to Ernakulam to pursue her graduation. She is a first year BCA student at KMM College of Arts and Science, Ernakulam.
The girl then urged the Ayiroor-based youth to end their affair; however, he refused. Annoyed by his reply, Lakshmi Priya along with the friends of her new boyfriend abducted him from Ayiroor in a car after tactically asking him to meet her on April 5. The complainant was brutally assaulted by the gang inside the car and was then taken to an isolated house at Thammanam in Ernakulam, there he was stripped and beaten up.
The gang allegedly forced the youth to drink beer and use ganja after tying him up inside the house. They even smashed a beer bottle on his head. The accused also snatched the youth’s gold chain, Rs 5,500 and a watch as well. Later he was abandoned at Vyttila, and his relatives later took him to Kalamassery Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi Priya’s mother alleged that the two were not in any relationship and were just friends. The complainant used to harass her daughter and she was not involved in the incident.
