G. Sudhakaran slams CPM over SilverLine project
T’puram: Ambalappuzha MLA G Sudhakaran lashed out at CPM over the SilverLine project, stating that the controversial yellow survey markers used during the implementation of the now scrapped project were an ‘unnecessary mistake’ made without proper consideration.
Speaking in the assembly on Tuesday, Sudhakaran said CPM should have withdrawn the yellow boundary stones much earlier. Referring to the party’s political strategy, he remarked that if CPM had understood Lenin’s principle of taking ‘one step forward and two steps back’ when necessary, the markers would have been removed at the outset.
“The yellow stones have now been removed by the people themselves. Installing them was an ill-conceived move,” he said. Sudhakaran noted that the markers had even been placed inside residential properties, including kitchen areas in the constituency of former minister Saji Cherian, and claimed that he had warned of a public backlash at the time.
