Ex-RJ murder: Police get custody of four accused

Thiruvananthapuram: The police team probing the murder of former radio jockey

Rasikan Rajesh

secured the custody of four accused for further investigation till Wednesday. They are Mohammed

Salih

and Thanseer, who had allegedly committed the murder, and

Swathi Santhosh

and Yaseen, who had allegedly aided the main accused.

Menawhile, policemen, who took Salih and Thanseer to the crime scene at

Madavoor

for evidence collection on Thursday, had tough time managing the agitated mob who gathered there.

One of the main tasks of the cops during the further investigation would be to collect evidence to establish the presence of Salih in the country as he had allegedly came from Qatar via Kathmandu airport in Nepal. For this, he has to be taken to Delhi and Bengaluru and check the surveillance camera visuals at the hotels where he stayed. The statements of people, whom he met during his stay in Bengaluru need to be recorded too.

Yaseen, a BTech student, who helped Salih arrange the stay in Bengaluru, had allegedly took the latter to his friend’s residence, where they stayed for one night and had a booze party.

Yaseen had also used another friend’s car to pick Salih from Benglauru airport. These persons’ statements are considered vital to establish that Salih had landed in India.

Meanwhile, efforts are also on to get custody of Abdul Sathar, the key conspirator behind the crime, who is in Qatar. The police had already sought the help of

Interpol

to issue a red corner notice against him to secure his custody. The police was forced to take this route as Sathar, a businessman, is facing travel ban due to financial issue in Qatar.

Sathar had allegedly ordered the hit job to kill Rajesh as the latter was involved in an extra marital relationship with the former’s wife.
