Entry free for 5-day ODI series

, Kariavattom, will host a five-day ODI series between England Lions and India A team from January 23. The good news for

cricket

enthusiasts is that entry will be free.

The England Lions team reached here on Sunday, while India A team will arrive on January 20.

The ODI matches will be held at Sports Hub on January 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31 and the four-day test match will be held at Krishnagiri Stadium in Wayanad from February 7 to 10.

All matches will be day matches and entry will be permitted from 8.30am. “Spectators may enter the stadium through Gate 1 and occupy the ‘A’ and ‘J’ seats. The match will begin at 9am and there will be no live telecast,” said a statement from Kerala Cricket Association (KCA).

The England Lions team, which reached the city on Sunday, began practice at KCA’s St Xaviers Ground from Monday. They will continue daily practice till Thursday. There will be a warm-up match between England Lions team and Board President’s XI team on January 18 and 20.

The practice session of India A team will be held at St Xaviers stadium, Thumba, on January 21. Both the England Lions team and India A team will practice at Sports Hub on January 22.

England Lions team includes, Dom Bess, Sam Billings, Danny Briggs, Matthew Carter, Zak Chappell, Joe Clarke, Alex Davies, Ben Duckett, Lewis Gregory, Sam Hain, Tom Kohler Cadmore, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Jamie Porter, Tom Bailey, Max Holden and Amar Virdi.

Prior to the four-day test, a practice session for both teams will be held on February 2 and there will be a warm up match on February 3 and 4 at St Xaviers ground.

The England Lions team will leave for Kozhikode on February 5 and practice at Krishnagiri Stadium on February 6.
