THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the Food Safety Day observance, which is observed world-wide on June 7, the food safety department is organizing a cookery contest for women. The ‘Eat Right Cookery Contest’ will be held at Women’s Club, Kowdiar, on June 3.
The cookery contest is held as part of the food safety department’s week-long celebrations which will begin on June 1.
The department has planned district and state-level programmes. The cookery contest will be held in five categories for school/college students, government employees, NGO/Kudumbashree members, food business operators and homemakers.
Maximum four teams, each having two members, can compete under each category. Prizes will be distributed at the valedictory function to be held at VJT Hall on June 7.
Excise commissioner Rishi Raj Singh will lead an awareness session against drug use. A drama by excise department, to create awareness about harms of drugs use, too will be staged.
