Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for co-operative department A C Moitheen has directed consumer federation MD to provide stationery items for daily use at subsidy rate and to regulate price of items in the market by improving the functioning of Nanma and Triveni stores.
"Nanma stores were started to provide various items at low rate to the public. However previous government followed certain policies which led to decline of Nanma stores," the minister said.
The minister's direction comes in the wake of growing complaints against Triveni and Nanma stores as to how the stock has decreased considerably and that the stores failed to create any impact on soaring prices.
