BPL group chief named for award

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BPL group chairman T.P.G. Nambiar has been nominated for the Gangadharan Samaraka award for the year 2001 in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of information technology.
The award carrying Rs.25,000 and a citation would be presented to Nambiar at a function in October, jury committee chairman and VSSC director G.Madhavan Nair told reporters here on Sunday.
The award was instituted by a trust in Kollam in the memory of former assembly speaker, freedom fighter and journalist V.Gangadharan.
