Offered free-of-cost, the booklet is expected to help create a generation that would act as flag bearers in the processes relating to cleanliness and proper waste management techniques. The first edition of the booklet has been published this year with 5,000 copies. Editorial board member Shanavas Abdul Gafoor (district programme officer, Suchitwa Mission), Ayyappan (district officer PRD, Kollam) and Safeer (district mission coordinator of Kudumbashree) were present at the function held at Collector's camp.

The booklet stresses on the importance of recycling non-biodegradable waste and warns against harmful effects of burning waste. Reduce, reuse and recycle are the three ideas mainly propagated in the booklet.
