THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union minister for drinking water and sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar will inaugurate Jalaswaraj,
BJP's six-monthlong campaign on water conservation at Sasthamkotta, Kollam, on Monday.
The campaign has as its convenor sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman and filmmaker Rajasenan as chairman.
Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh will be the chief guest of the inaugural function, which will also see the unveiling of the campaign's website.
The campaign aims at renovating and recharging wells and other water bodies, besides constructing 25 rainwater pits across the state, BJP state secretary A N
Radhakrishnan said on Friday. Rajasenan blamed the real estate mafia, “who reclaimed paddy fields and green belts to construct flats,“ for the state's water shortage.
