Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has launched a project to produce and supply Ayurveda veterinary medicines for the treatment of commonly found cattle diseases. Implemented in collaboration with Ayurveda drug manufacturer Kerala Ayurvedic Cooperative Societ, it aims at reducing the input cost on dairy farmers and boost production of high-quality milk free of antibiotic residue.
Minister for animal husbandry and dairy development,

J Chinchurani

, inaugurated the exchange of the production agreement between the Malabar Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU) and

KACS

at a function at

Milma Bhavan

. The minister also handed over the production license from the department of drug control to both sides.

The minister said the plus-side of the Ayurveda is that there is no side-effect. The initial set of medicines include Masticure for mastitis, Pyrex Care for fever, Diar End for loose motion, Crack Heal for teat disorders, Heal All to heal all kinds of cuts and wounds, Rumatore for indigestion, acidity and flatulence, Milk Let for inducing lactation, and Fly Repel, a flea repellent.
