THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: City police have arrested two more people in connection with an attack on a house at Chempazhanthy. The arrested are Kiran, 26, and Sachu alias Unni, 28. They are the fifth and sixth accused in the case, respectively.
Police had earlier arrested Ratheesh, Jishnu,
Akhil and
Deepu in connection with the case.
On March 7, the
gang
barged into the house of a woman named Shyla and damaged a car and two motorcycles parked in front of the house. They also damaged the goods kept in the furniture store that functioned close to the house. When Shyla tried to resist the attack, the gang assaulted her. They also snatched a gold chain worth six sovereigns. They also attacked a youth who was employed by Shyla’s husband.
Police said the youth was beaten up and one of the gang members hit him on his head and dragged him to a nearby plantation.
Police had arrested four of the gang members from Adoor and Ezhamkulam.
Youth held under Kaapa: A youth who is an accused in several criminal cases was arrested under the Kerala Anti-social Activities Prevention Act (Kaapa) here on Friday. The arrested was identified as
Aneesh
, 36, a resident of Attipra. He was kept under preventive detention for six months in 2014 and for a year in 2018. Police have registered cases related to murder, attempt to murder, goon attack, kidnap and robbery at
Kazhakkoottam
and Kadinamkulam police stations. He will be kept under preventive detention for six months.
