As many as 20,000 kids to take part in Children’s Day rally
Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 20,000 kids will take part in the procession which will be held as part of Children’s Day celebrations at 9.30am on Thursday. The rally will start from Museum premises.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will give the Children’s Day message at a public convention to be held at Nishagandhi Auditorium in Kanakakunnu at 12pm. Children’s Day stamp will also be unveiled on the occasion.
Prizes for winners of state arts festival ‘Varnolsavam-2019’ will be distributed during the convention. The celebrations are jointly organized by the state child welfare council and state government.
Deepak S P, general secretary, state child welfare council, said that children who have been elected as leaders would lead the rally.
Amrithasree V Pillai ( Prime Minister), Tameem Ihzan ( President), Rosna Joseph (speaker), Liyoz M V ( welcome speaker) and Nanma S ( thanksgiving speaker) will lead the rally.
The celebrations are being organized based on the theme ‘Renaissance for Rebuild Kerala’.
Thiruvananthapuram district has won the ever-rolling trophy in state arts fest and the winners will be honoured during the convention.
Pathanamthitta has won the second prize and third prize was shared by Kollam and Kottayam. Health minister K K Shailaja will receive the Children’s Day stamp.
V K Prasanth MLA; Jeevan Babu, director of general education; and T V Anupama, director of woman and child development; will be present on the occasion.
