927 more Covid-19 cases take tally to 19,025 in Kerala
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state so far has reported 19,025 positive cases of which 10,138 are contact cases and 8,887 are imported cases. If from January 30 to May the total number of cases reported was 499, it became 18,526 after May 4.
On Sunday the state reported 927 more positive cases of which 760 are contact cases. The sources of 67 cases are not known. Apart from this, 689 recoveries were also reported. The total number of active cases is 9,655.
Among the new cases 76 are returnees from abroad and 91 came from other states. Two deaths were also reported taking the Covid related death toll in the state to 62.
The details of the positive cases are 175 persons from Thiruvananthapuram, 107 in Kasaragod, 91 from Pathanamthitta, 74 in Kollam, 61 from Ernakulam, 57 in Kozhikode, 56 from Malappuram, 54 in Kottayam, 48 from Idukki, 47 in Kannur, 46 from Alappuzha, 42 in Palakkad, 41 from Thrissur and 28 in Wayanad.
The district-wise figures of local transmission are 164 persons in Thiruvananthapuram, 105 from Kasaragod, 59 in Kollam, 57 from Ernakulam, 53 in Pathanamthitta, 48 from Kozhikode, 45 in Kottayam, 39 from Malappuram, 37 in Palakkad, 35 in Alappuzha, 31 each from Idukki and Kannur, 15 in Thrissur and 14 in Wayanad.
As many as 16 healthcare workers were also infected; 8 in Thiruvananthapuram, 3 from Ernakulam, 2 in Alappuzha, and one each from Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Kannur. Four

There are currently 1,56,162 people under observation in various districts of the state, 1,47,182 at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 8,980 in hospitals. 1,277 persons were hospitalised today.
During the last 24 hours, 20,626 samples were analysed. Till now, a total of 6,72,748 samples have been sent for testing and of these, the results of 7,492 samples are yet to come. 1,12,714 samples were collected from high-risk groups as part of Sentinel Surveillance and 1,09,143 samples were negative.
29 new places were designated as hotspots today while 15 were excluded. There are 494 hotspots in Kerala now.
