50-year-old man held in sexual assault of woman

T'puram: Kattakada police on Saturday arrested a 50-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a person with learning difficulties at Kattakkada KSRTC bus stand on May 10. The accused, identified as Shibu alias Bruce Lee Shibu, had been absconding since the incident. The arrest took place based on the tip off.According to police, the assault took place around 1am while the woman was sleeping on a bench near the station master's office at the stand. KSRTC staff on duty noticed the man behaving suspiciously near the woman and questioned him, following which he left the premises.Earlier, the incident surfaced after police examined CCTV footage. Based on the visuals, investigators identified the accused and launched a search operation. Police said Shibu is reportedly involved in multiple criminal cases. The woman was later found near KSRTC depot premises and was shifted to a shelter home in Kattakada. TNN
