21 officers newly inducted to IPS get postings

The government has filled the vacancies in the police by appointing 21 officers who have been newly inducted to the IPS from the state police service. The government also made minor shuffles in the existing posting of SPs in some districts.

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has filled the vacancies in the police by appointing 21 officers who have been newly inducted to the IPS from the state police service. The government also made minor shuffles in the existing posting of SPs in some districts.
Incumbent SP (Alappuzha) G Jayadev has been replaced by Chathra Theresa John who is waiting for posting, while Jayadev has been appointed as the SP anti-terrorist squad (operations).

Kannur city police commissioner R Ilango has been transferred and appointed as managing director of Kerala police housing and construction corporation and Ajith Kumar, DCP (law and order, Thiruvananthapuram), has been appointed as commissioner of Kannur city. Commandant KAP-2 battalion Ankit Ashokan will be the new city police commissioner in Thrissur, replacing R Adithya, who has left on central deputation. The government also appointed J Himendranath as the chief vigilance officer of Kerala state electricity board.
District police chiefs of Kannur rural and Kollam rural P B Rajeev and K B Ravi have been transferred from the posts and have been appointed as director of women’s commission and SP, VACB special cell, respectively. SP (state special branch, Kozhikode) Sunil M L will be the new Kollam rural SP.
Among the officers who have been newly inducted into the IPS, R Mahesh has been appointed as the new Kannur rural SP while Ajith V has been posted as DCP, Thiruvananthapuram. While Raju A S has been posted as AIG (women and children cell), Gopakumar K S has been appointed as SP (railways), which is presently lying vacant.
Other officers who have been newly appointed include Suneesh Kumar R (assistant director administration, Kerala police academy), Prasanthan Kani B K (commandant, rapid response and rescue force), Sabu Mathew K M (SP, VACB, Ernakulam), Sudarshan K S (SP, crime branch Alappuzha), Shaji Sugunan (SP, ICT), Vijayan K V (SP, crime branch HQ), Abdul Rasheed N (Kerala women’s battalion), Aji V S (AIG, public grievances), Jayashankar R (SP, VACB, southern range), Sandeep V M (commandant, KAP-2 battalion), Sunil Kumar V (SP, crime branch central unit-1), Aji K K (SP, crime branch central unit-4), Johnkutty K L (SP, crime branch, Kottayam), Rajesh N (SP, internal security), Reji Jacob (SP, VACB special unit-1) and K E Baiju (SP, administration, state special branch).
