THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Medical Association's Kerala branch has announced that all 17,000 of its members in its 85 branches are pledging their eyes, to be donated after death.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Medical Association''s Kerala branch has announced that all 17,000 of its members in its 85 branches are pledging their eyes, to be donated after death.
Association president P.T. Cherian and secretary T. Suresh Kumar said the pledging would be effected in the one week Eyecare Week beginning from August 25. This move would benefit thousands of partly or fully blind people in the state.

All the declarations would be collected and submitted to the medical authorities in the presence of Union Minister for Health Shatrughan Sinha at a function in September, they added.
