101g MDMA seized, seven held
Thiruvananthapuram: In two different incidents, police on Sunday morning arrested seven persons with 101.12 gram MDMA and 29.41 gram ganja.
In the first incident, a police patrolling team arrested five men travelling in a car at Kizhuvilam near Ramachamvila junction during a routine vehicle check at 4am. The arrested have been identified by police as Jithin, 34, of Puthussery Mukku near Karavaram, Sabu, 46, of Perumkulam at Manampoor, Lijin, 39, of Vakkom, Riyas, 36, of Perumkulam near Manampoor and Shiju, 47, of Perumkulam.
Police who grew suspicious of their behaviour during checking seized the drug from the pocket of the first accused.

Five mobile phones were also seized from them. The accused were remanded after being produced before a court on charges under sections 29 and 22 (c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985.
In the second incident at Kazhakkoottam police station limits, Leon Johnson, 32, of Kadinamkulam and Vijeesh, 36, of Kizhakkumbhagam, Kazhakkoottam, were arrested. They were remanded on charges under NDPS sections 22 (c), 29, 20 (B) IIA. The duo was arrested from a house near Kinfra Apparal Park at Menamkulam after police conducted a raid at the house following a tip off received by top cops about drug business. During the raid, MDMA, ganja and a machine used for weighing the drug was also seized.
In both the cases, the drug was bought from Bengaluru for sale and their personal use as well.
