Youth intervenes neighbour’s fight, stabbed to death

Thane: A good samaritan act turned fatal for 22-year-old Sameer Deolkar, who was stabbed to death in BR Nagar in Diva late on Friday. Police said Deolkar’s neighbours, Gulchand (30) and his wife Preeti Kadam (28) had a heated argument. The fight turned violent when the couple called in their relatives, leading to a huge commotion. Deolkar, his brother Mangesh and their two friends Akash Raut and Sunny Pawar stepped in and tried to pacify the crowd. When one of the relatives angered at the intervention and reportedly grabbed a sharp weapon and stabbed Deolekar. Deolekar succumbed to his injuries on the way to Kalwa hospital, police said. The Mumbra police have arrested all the nine accused.
