THANE: While Nareshkumar Raghupati made it to the nation's premier management institute in Lucknow after scoring a fantastic 94.5 percentile in the common admission test for IIM, back home, the faculty of his alma mater, Sahakar Vidya Prasarak Mandal (SVPM) in Kalwa is elated at his progress so far.
Although it has been a decade since Raghupati passed out from SVPM, the teachers and administrators have fond memories of the 'quiet and studious boy.' The teachers said that Raghupati stood out from the rest of the students and was a favourite for his attentive behaviour and sterling score in academics.
School principal Daffy Anthony said, "I used to be the supervisor all through Naresh's six years of schooling here remember him distinctly. He was an introvert and kept to himself and a small group of friends. However, his academic score did the talking and his achievements were the talk of the staff room."
While Raghupati started his two-year-long course at IIM-Lucknow last month, his school teachers unanimously said they had seen the spark in the boy since he joined the school in Std V and wished him the best in his career.
Amit Rane, a clerk in the school's administration office, said, "The boy's success is because of his mother who was a teacher in our school. She was a disciplinarian and ensured that he spent his free time reading books in the library or completing his homework."
His good behaviour made him popular among the other staffers here too, he added.
