Thane’s Ring Metro to have 22 stations; tenders soon for planning particulars

The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) was set to seek consultants for detailed station planning for the Ring Metro project in Thane. The project aimed to improve connectivity and serve as a feeder to existing metro lines. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde awaited the Centre’s approval to proceed further.

To bridge connectivity gaps between densely populated pockets on either side of Ghodbunder Road and Eastern Express Highway
Provide alternative and fast connectivity with Thane’s dense pockets and railway stations on Central Railway
Be a feeder to MMRDA’s Metro 4 (Wadala-Kasarwadavali) and Metro 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi)
