THANE: The
Anti-Narcotics Cell
(ANC) of
Thane police
arrested three alleged drug pushers and recovered nearly two kgs of
charas
and other material worth Rs 40 lakh.
The cops also seized 334 grams of
Ganja
and 16 LSD papers from them.
The accused have been identified as Eric Killen (27), Pravin Chaudhary (47), the residents of
Dombivali
, and Sumedh Kasbe (24), the resident of Navi Mumbai.
Acting on a tip-off that some persons would be carrying narcotics with them, the sleuths of ANC laid a trap on the Kalyan-Shil road.
Cops said that they spotted the car near Riverwood Park at Desai Naka and intercepted it.
They added that upon carrying out the car search, they found bags with a pungent smell of contraband.
Later, the police carried out the panchanama, and found 1.9 kgs Charas worth Rs 38.9 Lakh. Along with that, they also recovered 16 LSD papers which are worth Rs 1.12 Lakh and 334 grams of Ganja worth Rs 10,020.
"We have also recovered the car and phone used in the crime worth over Rs 5 lakh. An offence is registered at Daighar police station under various sections of NDPS act."
