NEW DELHI: Police have filed charges against a 42-year-old man from Dombivli area for allegedly sexually assaulting his six-year-old daughter in Maharashtra's Thane district, according to an official statement released on Monday.
The accused reportedly committed these heinous acts multiple times since June when the child was by herself at home, as stated by an official from Vishnu Nagar police station.
Following a complaint lodged by the accused's wife on Saturday, authorities have registered a case under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault
