Teen booked for harassing girl

THANE: A 19-year-old boy has been booked for harassing a college girl as she rejected his marriage proposal.
According to the Thane Nagar police, the victim and the accused, identified as Sagar Pawar, live in the same area lives in the next building of the victim. The victim and accused were good friends.
However, a few days ago, the accused proposed to her and asked her to marry him.The girl immediately turned down his proposal, which irked the accused. He then allegedly started sending threat and lewd messages to the victim. The girl then lodged a complaint with the police. Investigations are on in the case and the police are yet to arrest the accused.
A case has been registered under Section 506, 507 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code and 66 (a) of Information Technology Bill 2008 (amended).
